Prince Andrew Seeks Out Juried Trial In Virginia Giuffre Lawsuit

Prince Andrew is seeking out a trial in the sexual assault case against him.

The 61-year-old Duke of York’s lawyers are pushing for a trial by jury if the lawsuit isn’t dismissed altogether.

According to BBC, Prince Andrew‘s lawyers submitted documents to the court on Wednesday with their intentions of the case in which Virginia Giuffre says she was forced to have sex with him when she was just 17.

Andrew has previously denied Virginia‘s allegations, and attempted to get the lawsuit tossed out, which was rejected.

Attorneys Andrew Brettler and Melissa Lerner said that the lawsuit should be dismissed on several grounds, citing Virginia‘s permanent residency in Australia and a settlement over a decade earlier between Jeffrey Epstein and herself, which they say prevents her from suing the prince.

They also argued that she consented to sexual activity and the statute of limitations has expired.

Andrew was previously stripped of his HRH and military titles ahead of the trial.
