An important reminder: you don’t need to spend a load of money to give your interiors a refresh.

Take note from Amy Stanyer-Jones, a mum-of-three who managed to totally transform her kitchen for just £15.92 in total.

How, you may ask?

The hack is simple: pick up some self-adhesive tiles – costing just £1.99 a pack – from Home Bargains.

Amy, 24, only need eight packets to cover her kitchen floor, and the DIY job took up just an hour and a half of her time.

But you’d never know that looking at the end result – it’s a stunning makeover that looks far more expensive than it is.

Amy, a graphic designer who rents her home in Denbighshire, Wales, said: ‘My landlady is amazing and gave me free rein on the house.

‘The tiles are so easy to use – you just stick them onto the floor!

‘They are already pre-cut and have a self adhesive back so I just hoovered the kitchen floor, and started sticking them down.

‘You wouldn’t think it was as cheap as it was and a lot of people don’t believe me when I tell them how cheap it was for me to do!

‘I’ve never had an eye for decorating but during the first lockdown, I started doing odd jobs around the house and got bored of looking at the same walls every day so I love changing up the house.’

The good news is that if you, like Amy, get bored of your interiors and want a quick change-up, it’s easy to use the same technique.

Just follow Amy’s tips for minimal faff.

‘Make sure to measure your kitchen before buying the tiles so you know how many packs you’ll need,’ she advises.

‘All you need is a ruler, and scissors or a stanley blade to cut around the edges.

‘Start in the centre of the room and work your way outwards.

‘The tiles are really easy to cut and I’d recommend using an additional self-adhesive spray glue to make them last even longer and prevent any lifting.’
