Sony Pushes Jared Leto's 'Morbius' Movie From January to April Due to Omicron Variant

Fans are going to have to wait for Morbius.

It’s reported, via Variety, that the film starring Jared Leto in the title role has been pushed back from January to April 2022 due to the recent surge of Omicron variant COVID-19 cases.

Morbius will now be out in theaters on April 1, and up against Easter Sunday and The Contractor at the box office.

Here’s the summary for Morbius: Dangerously ill with a rare blood disorder and determined to save others suffering his same fate, Dr. Morbius attempts a desperate gamble. While at first it seems to be a radical success, a darkness inside him is unleashed. Will good override evil—or will Morbius succumb to his mysterious new urges?

The flick will also star Matt Smith, Adria Arjona, Jared Harris, Al Madrigal and Tyrese Gibson.
