New 'Death on the Nile' Trailer Released Amid Questions If Disney Would Scrap the Film Due to Armie Hammer's Leading Role
It looks like Disney is proceeding with Death on the Nile, despite Armie Hammer starring as one of the male leads and there being some question if he would be recast or if the film would be scrapped. Hammer was accused of rape earlier this year.
Disney just released a new trailer today, indicating they plan to go full steam ahead with the movie.
Here’s a synopsis: Belgian sleuth Hercule Poirot’s Egyptian vacation aboard a glamorous river steamer turns into a terrifying search for a murderer when a picture-perfect couple’s idyllic honeymoon is tragically cut short. Set against an epic landscape of sweeping desert vistas and the majestic Giza pyramids, this tale of unbridled passion and incapacitating jealousy features a cosmopolitan group of impeccably dressed travelers, and enough wicked twists and turns to leave audiences guessing until the final, shocking denouement.
The movie also stars Tom Bateman, Annette Bening, Russell Brand, Ali Fazal, Dawn French, Gal Gadot, Armie Hammer, Rose Leslie, Emma Mackey, Sophie Okonedo, Jennifer Saunders and Letitia Wright.
The film will be released on February 11, 2022.
