Leonardo DiCaprio Just Found Out His Dad George Has a Cameo in 'Licorice Pizza'!

Leonardo DiCaprio is finding out some very interesting things about his dad lately.

In a recent interview, the 47-year-old actor opened up about learning that his father, George DiCaprio, has a cameo in Licorice Pizza!

Speaking in a red carpet interview at the premiere of Don’t Look Up over the weekend, Leo opened up about how his dad landed the role.

“I haven’t seen it yet but my dad, George DiCaprio, has a cameo in a Paul Thomas Anderson movie!” he shared. “Today was a good day.”

In another piece with the New York Times, Paul Thomas Anderson explained in further detail how he recruited George for the part.

“I created a picture of a guy who owned a wig shop that sold these water beds, and I couldn’t put my finger on it,” he shared. “I kept saying, ‘Who do I know that looks like this?’ And like a bolt of lightning, I remember, like ‘Leo’s dad looks exactly like this.’”

Paul continued, “So I tracked him down, asked him if he’d ever be interested in being in a film. He said, ‘Sure.’”

After breaking down the role to George, Paul says that George then told him he actually owned a water bed company.

“It was called Foggy Bottom.”

Don’t Look Up will be out in select theaters on December 10, and Licorice Pizza is already out.
