George Clooney Talks Changes in Hollywood: 'You Can't Get Away with Being a D--k Anymore'

“Just because you’re a boss, it doesn’t mean you get to s–t on people. I’ve been the boss and the guy being s–t on,” he said. “You can’t get away with being a d–k any more — you’d get ratted out.”

George went on to say that some of this change is the result of the #MeToo movement, referencing both former producer Harvey Weinstein and Scott Rudin.

“It’s changed in this way,” he explained. “On top of the terrible things Weinstein did, being a jerk at work is now not OK… I can’t imagine some producer having a casting session alone in his hotel room with a young girl anymore. It’s moving in the right direction.”

However, he noted that there’s “an overcorrection, where everyone points fingers.” But he also added “that will settle – it always does.”

In terms of making the industry safer, the Ocean’s Eleven actor said: “We’ll know when we see how wrong something else goes. I’m sure there’s more and someone will tell us, then we’ll have to pay attention to it.”

In the same interview, George also reflected on his near-fatal motorcycle crash in 2018.
