David Harbour Reveals Who Convinced Him to Marry Lily Allen During the Pandemic

David Harbour is dishing on his wedding to Lily Allen!

During an interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the 46-year-old Stranger Things actor talked up about his super low-key wedding to the 36-year-old British singer in Las Vegas back in September 2020, which just included the couple and Lily‘s two daughters – Ethel, 9, and Marnie, 8, whom she shares with ex-husband Sam Cooper.

“We got engaged right before the pandemic,” David recalled. “Then the pandemic hit and nothing was happening.”

As they had to put their wedding plans on hold, David revealed that he received a lot of pressure to marry Lily, despite the pandemic.

“We were riding around beginning of pandemic — she has two kids, these beautiful daughters, 8 and 9 — and we were riding bikes out in the country trying to figure out what we were gonna do for the next year or however long it was going to take,” David recalled.

“And the little one was riding along and she was going like, ‘David, Dad, David, Dad.’ Because the ‘d’ got her confused,” he explained. “And the older one got very upset with that, which I understand, and was like, ‘He’s not our dad! He’s not our dad!’”

David continued, saying, “And the younger one was like, ‘Well, what is he? He’s kind of our dad.’ She’s like, ‘No, he’s not.’ ‘He’s kind of our stepdad.’ ‘No, he’s not.’ And she goes, ‘What is he?’ And she goes, ‘He’s just some guy in our lives!’”

David said that that moment was a wake-up call for David.

“I was like, ‘I need to marry this woman,’” David remembered.

Despite David now permanently being in their lives, David joked that the girls still call him “some guy in our lives,” but he said that it’s his “favorite thing I’ve ever been called.”

Lily recently opened up about if she and David are planning on having children together.
