George Clooney & Julianna Margulies Share Their Concerns About Potential 'ER' Revival

The cast of ER is together again!

George Clooney and Julianna Margulies reunited virtually with their former co-stars Anthony Edwards, Noah Wyle, Gloria Reuben, Laura Innes, Goran Visnjic, Ming-Na Wen, CCH Pounder, and Alex Kingston for a Stars in the House special that took place on Thursday (April 22).

During their reunion, the idea of a possible ER revival was brought up, but not everyone is on board with the idea.

“When you look at the show, it’d be hard to say that we could do it [again] at the level that we did it,” George shared via TV Line. “Because boy, I’ve actually been watching it a bit because my wife’s been watching it, which is very odd, and I have to say, it’s such great television.”

George then specifically brought up season one’s episode “Love’s Labor Lost,” where Dr. Greene (Edwards) misdiagnoses pre-eclampsia as a minor bladder infection for a pregnant woman, putting her life and her unborn child’s life in jeopardy.

George called that episode “as good a piece of television as I’ve ever seen… It’s hard to catch lightning again.”

Julianna agreed with George, saying, “You can’t capture lightning in a bottle twice. I think you have to leave what was so beautiful and move on, because it just feels cheap… It would cheapen it for me.”

In a recent interview, Julianna revealed that she and this fellow ER cast member had “crushes” on each other while they filmed the show.
