Demi Lovato Opens Up About Recreating Her Overdose in Her 'Dancing with the Devil' Music Video

Demi Lovato is sharing her thoughts on the video for her new song “Dancing with the Devil.”

The 28-year-old performer discussed her emotional music video in an interview with SiriusXM’s The Morning Mash Up on Friday (April 2).

“That was my decision,” Demi said. “And, I wanted to take you through that night in a more in depth level because I felt like I detailed it so much in the documentary that, obviously I didn’t have to like talk about it again.”

“But I wanted to give a visual to that and I wanted people to have kind of like a more visual understanding of what happened that night.”

In the docuseries, Demi detailed her relapse after six years of sobriety and what led to her overdose two weeks later.

The video shows Demi in the hospital being treated after her overdose and recreates the night before, including her drug dealer sexually abusing her and the moment her assistant came into the room and found her unresponsive.

When asked if she had seen or heard any reactions to the video so far, Demi replied, “You know, I don’t read like reactions really.”

“And so if people send them like friends, if a friend send it, or if there’s like a, a really good something, then my publicist will send it my way. But even at that, I don’t really typically read stuff. So hopefully everyone’s been liking it. I don’t know,” she continued.

Demi recently revealed what led to her new collaboration with Ariana Grande, “Met Him Last Night.”
