James Gunn Reacts To Mike Pence Naming Space Force Members 'Guardians'
James Gunn is speaking out after seeing the reveal of what the Space Force plans to call their members.
The newly developed branch of military, which is being led by current Vice President Mike Pence, revealed in an announcement that “Guardians is a name with a long history in space operations, tracing back to the original command motto of Air Force Space Command in 1983, ‘Guardians of the High Frontier.’”
“Soldiers, sailors, airmen, Marines and guardians will be defending our nation for generations to come,” Mr. Pence shared in an additional statement. “The Space Force is growing strongly every day, and just in the nick of time. Space is a vacuum, but we’re not operating in a vacuum … space is a war-fighting domain. It’s imperative that we invest the resources, the personnel and the technology to defend our nation and defend our values in the outer reaches of space.”
Today, after a yearlong process that produced hundreds of submissions and research involving space professionals and members of the general public, we can finally share with you the name by which we will be known: Guardians. pic.twitter.com/Tmlff4LKW6

The name Guardians connects our proud heritage and culture to the important mission we execute 24/7, protecting the people and interest of the U.S. and its allies.

After the announcement, many Twitter users replied with a lot of Guardians of the Galaxy references, which got the attention of James, who directed the Marvel movies that starred Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Vin Diesel, Dave Bautista and Bradley Cooper as the main team.
However, James is not impressed and slammed the name. He even proposed that Marvel maybe sue the government over it.
Can we sue this dork? https://t.co/9skZ8aG446
