'Fast & Furious' Series Will End with 11th Movie, Justin Lin In Talks to Direct Final Two Movies

The Fast & Furious series will be coming to an end.

It was just announced that Universal Pictures is planning on ending the franchise after an 11th movie, according to Deadline.

F9, the ninth movie in the series, will be released in theaters in 2021 after a delay of a full year due to the pandemic. This is the fifth movie in the franchise directed by Justin Lin and he’s in talks to direct the 10th and 11th movies as well.

Deadline says that “it seems likely they will tell a big story over two films that will focus on franchise patriarch Vin Diesel” and you can expect franchise stars Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Jordana Brewster, Nathalie Emmanuel, and Sung Kang to return.

The nine movies in the franchise, including the Hobbs & Shaw spinoff, have grossed around $5.7 billion worldwide.
