The building officially opened in August last year as one of the most anticipated developments in the world, the exoskeleton-shaped building adorning the Miami skyline.

Standing at 709 feet tall, the One Thousand Museum building, at 1000 Biscayne Boulevard, is directly opposite Museum Park in Miami and offers unparalleledviews across Biscayne Bay.

The 62-story residential tower houses 84 apartments, only 8 of which are full-floor apartments. One of these 10,335 square foot apartments will be the Beckham’s new home base in Miami, and comes with access to the building's private rooftop helipad, sky lounge for dining and private events, bank vault, off-site beach club, private cinema, wellness centre, spa, and indoor lap pool on the 61st floor.

The sale was made under Beckham Brand Limited, which is the partnership and licensing company owned by David Beckham. Although the purchase formally closed this week, the acquisition was agreed some months ago.

The top floors of the tower feature the swimming pool and wellness centre, lounge and event space.

It's been reported that the power couple paid around $24 million (£19 million) for the apartment. The Beckham's full-floor apartment is located on one of the highest floors in the 62-story tower (our bet is on the penthouse), encompassing spacious entertaining areas, sprawling views, five bedrooms and six bathrooms.

Aside from the iconic design, the One Thousand Museum is also known for it's privacy and security, attracting high network and high profile buyers. The building's private rooftop helipad probably helps too, marking it as the only residential building in Miami that has its own airport.

At the foot of the building, the popular 30-acre Museum Park was redeveloped in 2013 as one of downtown Miami’s primary public spaces and includes the city’s new art and science museums.
