The coronavirus outbreak means that many of us are either self-isolating, working from home or just struggling to find our usual faves while we do our grocery shop (goodbye pasta).

Those who are not stockpiling or unable to go out might be wanting a takeaway.

While you can still get food items delivered to your house, it’s also just really comforting to be able to order a pizza when you want.

You can still order from Uber Eats, JustEat and Deliveroo but to make it easier for those self-isolating, Domino’s is now allowing zero contact deliveries too.

After news of Australian branches implementing the COVID19-friendly move, Domino’s in Britain and Ireland will be introducing the option.

You can choose on the app how and where you want your pizza to be delivered, whether it’s at the bottom of your flat, at your front door or so on.

But to make it truly contactless, all deliveries must be paid beforehand.

The contact-free delivery will be available from this week. This service comes at no additional charge and is in response to some customers wishing to limit physical contact during the current COVID-19 outbreak.

It’s available in every store in the UK and Ireland.

We got in touch with the folks at Domino’s and CEO David Wild had a message to share.

He said: ‘Domino’s understands the trust you place in us to deliver safe, freshly prepared pizza and takes this responsibility incredibly seriously.

‘Given the evolving COVID-19 situation,I wanted to reassure you that the safety and wellbeing of customers and colleagues is always our top priority. Domino’s already has very high hygiene standards and strict food handling procedures.

‘In light of the current situation we’re carefully following the advice from health authorities. We’ve implemented a number of additional precautions such as increased hand washing and sanitisation.

‘By introducing contact-free delivery, we believe that we will give our customers peace of mind when ordering a Domino’s, while also protecting our delivery drivers.’

You can select a contact-free delivery at the checkout on the app or website when placing your order.

Your driver will call you when they arrive to agree where you want your food left.

Once the order has been placed in the agreed location, the driver will stay at least two metres away while you collect your order.
