Taylor Swift Removed Some Lyrics from 'ME!' for 'Lover' Release

If you’re listening to Taylor Swift‘s song “ME!” as part of your Lover listen, you might notice that some of the original lyrics are missing.

The song, featuring Panic! at the Disco‘s Brendon Urie, was the first single released from the album and went to number two on the Billboard Hot 100.

Before the bridge, Taylor and Brendon proclaimed, “Hey kids, spelling is fun!” The lyrics are no longer featured in the song.

The new version of the song showed up on Apple Music on Wednesday (August 21), two days before the album release. The new version also was on Spotify when the album dropped.

“With this song, we really just wanted to have this song not really be fully taking itself seriously,” Taylor said during a previous interview. “So the lyrics, that’s a tone decision that we made in the studio. We literally were like, OK, let’s say ‘Hey, kids! Spelling is fun’ because we want everyone to know that this song is not really serious because it’s not, like, a serious love song.”

Make sure to read lyrics for EVERY song on the new album.
